Arc'teryx Squamish 50 Trail Race
We can't wait for August and the Arc'teryx Squamish 50 – a fifty mile trail ultra race in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Set in Squamish, British Columbia (named Top Trail Town by Trail Runner Magazine), this race starts at the Pacific Ocean and follows nearly ten thousand feet of elevation gain to the finish. With some of the best running terrain in Western Canada, the biggest challenge has been keeping this race from quickly becoming the Squamish 100 … or more!
The individual options are the 50 mile and 21k, or you can do the 50 as a co-ed relay team of three, five, or seven. Of course, we couldn't stay away from such an amazing race, and put together our own team. Here's who will be running what:
- LEG 1: Liz – Tour de Squamish (10k)
- LEG 2: Nancy F – Up, Up, and Away (8.5k)
- LEG 3: Nancy H – Wet and Wild (9.5k)
- LEG 4: Tim – Trail Running 101 (14k)
- LEG 5: Eron – What Goes Down, Must Go Up (18k)
- LEG 6: Tara – The Plunger (8.5k)
- LEG 7: Brent – No Guts, No Glory (13k)
They've all been training up a storm, and we sometimes see them hopping out of the office to get in a run. Here's a quick intro to our team and their favourite pieces to run in:
- Liz: Sales Analyst in Forecasting (figuring out how many of each thing we are going to make), Cita Sleeveless ("flattering style, comfy fabric, and a handy pocket")
- Nancy F: Senior Design Manager for Apparel, Phase AR Crew ("comfortable across a wide temperature range")
- Tim: CRM Campaign Specialist, Motus Crew SS ("amazing moisture-management combined with a soft fabric and non-chafing fit")
- Eron: Product Line Manager for the Endorphin collection, Cita Vest ("super light, nice mesh back for ventilation, and an internal pocket for my tunes and key)
- Tara: Graphic Designer, Cita Tight ("amazing fit and freedom of movement when running")
- Brent: Video Designer and Editor, Trino Jersey LS ("it's the ultimate cool weather running jersey")
If you're thinking of registering, hurry because spots are going fast. If you're already signed up, have a great race and keep an eye out for us on the course. We'll join you for the amazing snow-capped views at the finish!
