As you may have noticed recently, we've been publishing posts about folks from our online community sharing their outdoor adventures. For a while now, Dean's been posting amazing photos on our Facebook page, and so we just had to reach out to find out a bit more about his expeditions.

He started hiking seriously back in 2008, and since then, has climbed mountains in Bolivia, Mexico, Ecuador, and the Himalayas. His most recent outing, the culmination of a longtime dream, was a solo ascent of Aconcagua, Argentina – at 22,840 feet, the tallest mountain in South America.

Dean's plan was to do a non-guided solo circumnavigation via Polish Direct over the glacier – a more technical route. He wanted to travel fast and light, and so he brought along the Phase AR Zip Neck LS, Gamma SV Pants, and Alpha SV Jacket.

Dean lives in British Columbia and spends a lot of his weekends exploring some of our remote southwest mountains. His next big expedition will be either Patagonia or Tibet, and in the meantime, you can enjoy some more of his photos in an album on our Facebook page.
