Arc'teryx Heading To The 2012 SkyGames

If you're not familiar with Skyrunning and the SkyGames yet, simply put, they're pure insanity. Founded about two decades ago, they're a series of breathtaking (literally) mountain races spanning the globe from the Himalayas, to the Rockies, Mount Kenya, and Mexican volcanoes. Here's a quick overview of some of the disciplines:

  • SkySpeed: A 100m vertical climb with a 45% incline.
  • Vertical Kilometer: A 3.5km race with a 30% incline.
  • SkyBike: A duathlon combining mountain biking and skyrunning up to an altitude of 2,000 meters.
  • SkyMarathon: Your basic 26 miles … reaching an altitude of 3,100 meters.

The 2012 SkyGames are being held in the Spanish Pyrenees this weekend, and Team Arc'teryx will be represented by Tessa Hill, Murray Strain, Didier Zago, and Nicola Golinelli. The gentlemen will be sporting the Motus Sleeveless and Incendo Short, while Tessa will be rocking (pun not intended) the Soltera Tank and Solita Short.

A few of us will be there with them, gasping for oxygen and posting pictures and race updates on Facebook and Twitter throughout the weekend. Good luck to all racers!
