Viva La Vie
Filmmakers Keith Ladzinski and Andy Mann of 3 Strings Productions, both with successful individual careers as photographers, showcase their passion for storytelling with Viva La Vie. Drawn by a desire to pay tribute to the roots of modern sport climbing in one of the world’s most majestic gorges, the film follows two Arc'athletes – American climber Jonathan Siegrist and Swiss superstar Nina Caprez – as they venture up some of the hardest routes the Verdon Gorge [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdon_Gorge] has to offer.
"My favorite moment of filming was probably what you'll see as the final segments of the film," explains Mann. "We topped out on one of the hardest and biggest routes in the canyon in perfect end-of-day light; finding our story as filmmakers, and the deeper meaning of climbing – all in the same moment."
This project began as a film about two of the climbing world’s most colourful characters, "Jonathan and Nina are two of the coolest, most psyched climbers out there," said Ladzinski. But in the end, the film became a vehicle of discovery for the filmmakers; one that hopefully inspires others to pursue their own adventures. "More than anything, we hope the film is fun to watch!"
