Arc'teryx Nuclei Hoody
Within our Fall/Winter 2013 collection, we have introduced the new Nuclei Hoody, a compact belay jacket with a high warmth-to-weight ratio for alpine, ice, and rock climbing. For times when conditions merit coverage but a full-scale belay jacket is not required, the Nuclei packs the condensed warmth of Coreloft insulation into an exceptionally sleek and trim piece that can resist compression and has a high degree of water repellency.
The design balance lends itself toward a streamlined focus on warmth. The torso receives 80g insulation, while the sleeves, side panels, and hood opt for 60g maintain a lean profile and add mobility. The hand pockets have invisible zippers, while the sleeve cuffs and hood are treated with slim elastic binding for secure fit and clean, lightweight construction.
The outer fabric is a smooth-surfaced nylon Ripstop textile that readily sheds snow and other precipitation. The Nuclei Hoody comes with a stuff sack that fits into an interior stow pocket, and a clip-in point for attaching to a harness.
