Climbing and Skiing Colorado's Peaks

As you may have noticed, we've been putting up stories of folks from our online community doing cool things in our gear. When we recently came across Caroline on Twitter, we knew you had to meet her and see some of her great photos.

Caroline was born and raised in Boulder, CO. She was involved competitively in every sport she could – basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, and skiing; eventually narrowing it down to playing soccer for the University of Colorado. During her last year of college, she got the itch to start climbing Colorado's Fourteeners (14ers) again – something she'd done each year with her family growing up.

"I got so hooked that I finished climbing all of the fifty-eight 14ers in three years. Towards the end of my quest, I 'saw the light' when I realized I could ski down them. That opened up a whole new mission for me – to be one of the few females to ski off the summit of all 14ers. To date, I have over 140 Colorado 14er summits and 24 of 58 Fourteener ski descents. I've also been fortunate to start expanding my climbing outside of Colorado, with ski descents of volcanoes in Mexico and Washington."

"When I'm not skiing big peaks, my newest project is to climb all 584 ranked 13ers. I love large amounts of high-altitude endurance activity, trail running, and weightlifting. I'm also a big road cyclist on the side. I try to mix up the constant drive to test my own endurance with Pilates and some swimming."

Caroline's gear includes the Beta AR Jacket ("my go-to alpine jacket that never lets me down"), Delta AR Zip ("works great between my baselayer and storm shell"), Theta SV Bib ("bomb-proof storm pants even in some of the harshest conditions"), and Rho AR Bottom ("great baselayer").

You can check out Caroline's trip reports on 14ers.com, and follow her latest adventures on Twitter. We've also put a bunch of her photos in an album on our Facebook page.
