On the John Muir Trail with Arc’teryx

Darren is a walking encyclopedia of Arc'teryx gear knowledge and also happens to work at a local Atmosphere store. He recently hiked the John Muir Trail, managing to cover all 220 miles from Yosemite Valley to Whitney Portal in eleven days.

On this amazing expedition, almost all of Darren's clothing was Arc'teryx, including the Motus Crew SS, Rampart shorts, Atom LT Pullover ("used also as my pillow when stuffed inside itself"), and the Alpha FL Jacket ("only used once but 10oz so who cares!"). Interesting fact – Darren told us that by the end of the trip, he even wore our Merino Wool Gothic gloves as socks to separate his blistered toes. We'll definitely be sharing that one with our designers!

Naturally, an expedition like this resulted in some beautiful photos, and we've put a bunch of them in an album on our Facebook page. The next time you're in the Coquitlam Atmosphere store, make sure you track down Darren for some tips on the John Muir Trail… and creative uses of our gear.
