Red Bull X-Alps 2013
This weekend will see the launch of the sixth edition of Red Bull X-Alps, one of the world's toughest adventure races. Elite athletes from all over the globe will attempt to cross the Alps from Salzburg to Monaco in the fastest time possible – with the requirement that every one of the 1,031 kilometers must be covered either on foot or flown in a paraglider.
Each team is made up of one athlete and a support crew of two maximum, with absolutely no outside assistance. On average, races last between fourteen and twenty-one days, with some athletes hiking more than a hundred kilometers in a single day. An amazing challenge in one of the most beautiful, unforgiving environments on the planet.
After placing third in the most recent X-Alps, Paul Guschlbauer will be representing Team Arc'teryx once again. Check out our Facebook page for his training videos and updates throughout the race. Best of luck Paul!
