Arc'teryx continues its advocacy toward education and safety in the backcountry by becoming a Silver Sponsor of the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA). The MRA was formed in 1959 and is the oldest Search and Rescue association in the United States.

Association with this group entitles the members to advanced mountain rescue training, as well as leadership skills, risk assessment, working with the media and situational awareness. In turn, member groups host public education forums. By funding these training and public education activities, sponsors support the MRA to improve the quality, availability and safety of mountain rescues.

Serving as the only national search and rescue team accreditation organization, the MRA ensures that local units meet the professional level safety and training standards required to meet the needs of their community of outdoor enthusiasts.

The 2500 professional volunteer members of the MRA are dedicated to saving lives through rescue and mountain safety education. Partnerships of this nature reflect core Arc'teryx values of leadership through innovation and education.

In Canada, Rocky Mountain House SAR and North Shore Rescue in Vancouver are also part of this organization.
