Lauren Lee
Twenty-eight years old and not looking to slow down Lauren Lee follows her passion for life, reveling in the great outdoors. Due to an inexhaustible spirit Lauren has found her way amiably from one country to the next, racking up accolades and experiences many wouldn't have the stomach or the opportunity to pursue. In her ten years of climbing Lee has been amongst her female contemporaries sending 5.14, standing podium in almost every competition entered, and bouldering double digits.
Don't expect that the last sent route will be satisfactory for this thrill seeker. She is often found pushing her daily limits, searching for what she would call her outer-boundaries. She is convinced that her challenges are minimal; it is just a state of mind over matter."The biggest weakness I have is time and then secondly a mortal body," says Lauren. This Asian-dainty isn't afraid to take on projects for the rare chance to put up a memorable first ascent, like Pucker 13c and Pussycat 13a at The Cathedral, one of her home crags, or Confucius, a highball V7 she established in Turkey last year.
Says Lee,"What captivates me about climbing are the seemingly infinite places to ascend globally. There really doesn't have to be an end to traveling or a last climb."
The globetrotting Lee has climbed in eleven countries; in the last 12 months alone she's visited Turkey, Spain, France and Portugal. In Turkey she embarked on an Expedition into Heraklia with a crew of climbing's bouldering-elite, repeating the area test pieces and establishing new ones. Lauren hopes that she can inspire her contemporaries as they have inspired her. With those desires one can expect to see Ms. Lee pushing the standards and enjoying the act as she rambles on.
