Telemarker, alpinist, adventure runner, maniacal mushroom hunter, Conny’s achievements in the most remote mountains of the world are matched only by her understatement and her capacity to carry huge loads. Born and raised in the ski village of St Anton am Arlberg in Austria’s Tirol, Conny was the first European athlete to join Arc’teryx’s team. Alongside partner Jacob Slot, she runs a B&B, the Piltriquitron Lodge, out of her late grandmother’s 170 year old home, leads women’s community adventure clinics, and skis every day, often to the last chair, through places rich with memories. Conny has climbed glaciers in Colombian Amazonas, impressed warlords in Afghanistan, and made pioneering ski descents down peaks in Greenland, Spitzbergen and Patagonia, and high altitude expeditions in Peru, Colombia, Afghanistan, Tibet, Bolivia and Mexico. Her two-decade-deep relationship with Patagonia – the warm community of locals and the wind-lashed possibilities of new lines - continue to bring her deep satisfaction, even as she adds the planet’s polar regions to her adventure sights.
