Mountain Running

Eric is not only obsessed with moving quickly in the mountains, but also with the 'how'. Aerobic alpinism is his jam, and he's not afraid to show it. Originally from Minnesota, Eric got his taste for heart-pumping in the cold during his early days as a competitive XC ski racer. He fell hard for the mountains when he moved to British Columbia in 2009, and the rest is history: Eric has been a consistently top-ranked member of the US National Ski Mountaineering Team since 2014. He is remarkably easy-going for being such an analytical, quirky scientist type, although that might just be the sugar from his wicked sweet tooth and his 'full on carboholic' habit. But, when you output a bazillion calories in a day, who could blame you. Eric, who has an M.Sc. in exercise physiology, is currently combining all of his passions into a PhD investigating endurance performance at altitude. When he isn’t studying or doing obscene amounts of vertical meters, he's helping coach trail runners, skiers and alpinists toward their goals in the mountains.
