Logistics Coordinator – North Vancouver

We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, well organized person, with at least 2 years international freight and customs experience, to join our Production Planning Department. Working with internal departments and contract manufacturers, you will be responsible for the planning and logistics to achieve timely and cost effective production for a range of finished goods.
Ideally you will have:
• 2+ years experience with international freight and customs
• An undergraduate degree, equivalent industry training/certification, or related business experience
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills – remains calm in difficult situations
• Effective problem solving skills – is patient and democratic
• Excellent attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to read and write technical documents in English
• Participation or an interest in activities we make products for would be an asset
• Able to travel to the US
Please note: As part of meeting C-TPAT compliance (US trade security), we are required to complete a background check of successful applicants for this position
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage the import and export documentation for finished goods
• Determine correct tariffs, quota categories, and related information for Arc’teryx products. Accurately maintain and update this data.
• Develop an expertise in import/export issues related to textiles, apparel, and other products
• Respond to technical enquiries from Custom Agencies
• Manage import freight services, negotiate and monitor rates, establish forwarder agreements and performance measures
• Maintain documentation to support NAFTA exports
• Calculate blended import costs (freight, duty, brokerage, quota) for Arc’teryx products, accurately maintain and update this data
• Process drawback claims with Government and Customs Agencies
• Other duties as required
