Forrest Coots

Current Residence: Mount Shasta, CA

“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” — Edward Abbey

Forrest Coots grew up on the slopes of California’s Mount Shasta.

As a competitive ski racer for many years, Forrest developed a strong, fast, and graceful style that he subsequently transferred into backcountry mountain ranges across the globe, from Peru to the Georgian Caucuses. After four seasons filming for the a skiers journey, Forrest eyes have been opened to continue the search for wild and remote places to climb and ski.

When summer rolls around, Forrest turns his gaze back to home and the cascade volcano of mt Shasta. Working as a climbing ranger for the US forest service on his home mountain.
