Trail, Cross Country, Mountain, Road, Track & Field...Flow loves to run in all terrains and disciplines – as long as he feels challenged, close to nature and to himself.
Starting his career as a track & field athlete, his focus gradually shifted to the road, where he debuted in his first marathon in 2:26 h. Other accomplishments include a 30:50 min in the 10k and a 1:08:46 h for the half-marathon.
Apart from many individual and team titles in Germany’s state of Lower-Saxony he also won the Canary Cross Country championships on the island of Tenerife and the NCAA Division III Cross Country championships in New England. However, a deep love for the mountains and the more rugged areas made him work on his trail skills and he consequently focuses mostly on trail and mountain running now.
A permanent guest on each step of the Swiss Alpine's podium (2009, 2010, 2012), he also won the Ecco Indoor Trail twice (2012, 2013) and is now looking at a solid season of skyrunning, with races in Zegama (33rd place in 2013), Chamonix (Mont-Blanc Marathon), the Dolomites (European Skyrunning Championships & Dolomites Skyrace) and Zermatt (Ultraks).
His occupation as a high school teacher for English, Spanish and Phys. Ed. lets him pass on the passion for being out of doors and getting in touch with people from all over the world.
