You should never compare yourself to other people, but if the other person is your identical self, that’s a tall ask. Tom Peiffer spent his life chasing after identical twin brother Liam – a rivalry he now credits as being “developmentally essential” to helping him make it to the Freeride World Tour, where he debuted in 2019. Applying the scientific savvy of a pre-med student to his race preparations landed Peiffer on the podium in Hakuba, and ensured his spot on the 2020 season. Born in Salt Lake City, raised for four years in Switzerland and shaped by a youth spent on Vancouver’s North Shore competing and training with the Whistler Mountain Freeride Club, Tom is taking his understanding of commitment to a whole new level on some of the most infamous mountain faces in the world.
